Ana Gonzales bio
Ana Gonzalez de Jorgenson grew as a child in Mexico in a family who was devoted to music. She grew up listening mostly to classical music, old boleros as well as traditional ranchero and romantic ballads. Ana loves tangos as well the dramatic and opera performances. Ana began learning to play and sing in the early years alongside her mother. She was given more formal singing instruction when she reached the age of 16 old with the renowned Mexican Tenor Flavio BECARRA. She continued her musical training at the School of Music of Guadalajara University, then at the School of Sacred Music, Toluca. In Guadalajara as well as Mexico City, she was part of a variety of opera choruses and chamber ensembles. After 2000, she emigrated back to America. United States and sang with the Fort Lauderdale Symphony Chorus. Then, in 2007, she returned to her new home in Southern California. She is currently performing the traditional Latin American songs at private concerts as a singer. Her passion for singing, music and the arts keeps her engaged in local projects both as an artist and instructor. Ana was a member of the Community Chorus of Redlands and Inland Master Chorale. She is now a teacher in the Performance Loft. Ana hopes, with her performance of Latin American traditional songs, that she will bring about a desire, specifically among the younger generation, for keeping this music alive.
