Madhuri Dixit

Madhuri Dixit is an acclaimed Indian actress known for her roles in the film Beta Saajan as well as Hum Aapke Hain Koun..! She began her career in the 80s before coming to popularity with her role in the Tezaab film, in which she was a part of the cast alongside the veteran actor Anil Kapoor. Her next appearance on the screen was in Dil alongside Aamir. Born into a Mumbai middle class family and began to dance when she was a child. She ventured into acting as young and fought for a few years as most of her initial films were flops. Then she found her feet and became one of the most prominent actresses on the Indian film industry. Following her marriage she had an absence from the industry before returning to the film industry. Dixit played an important role in Gulaab Gang, a film that explores the struggles of women in India. Dixit was awarded fifteen Filmfare Awards nominations, of which she took home eight. She was also honored with the Padma Shri the fourth highest civilian award in India. Her name is well-known for her charitable work as well.
