Maggie Grace (born Margaret Grace Denig November 21, 1983) is an American actress best known for her roles as Shannon Rutherford on the ABC television series Lost and Kim Mills in the Taken trilogy. Maggie Grace was born in Worthington in Ohio. She dropped out of school after her parents split up to move into Los Angeles to live with her mother. Even though she had financial difficulties, her 2001 debut was in the role of Rachel's Room's main character. She went on to earn an Young Artist Award nomination in 2002 with her portrayal of 15-year-old murder victim Martha Moxley in the television movie Murder which aired in Greenwich. Grace Rutherford was the character Shannon Rutherford for Lost's first two seasons in 2004 as well as sharing with her a Screen Actors Guild Award (with all the other actors) with her. Grace decided to leave the show to focus on her acting career. She had starred alongside Tom Welling opposite in The Fog back in 2005. She also starred as a character in Suburban Girl The Jane Austen Book Club as well as, alongside Liam Neeson's Kim Mills as Kim Mills in Taken. The actress reprised her character in Taken 2 (2011) and Taken 3 (2013).She also played Alice in Malice in Wonderland, a contemporary adaptation of Lewis Carroll's Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. Grace played the role of Shannon in Lost and the final episode. Grace appeared on Californication's 6th season, which aired from 2013 to 2014. The actress portrays Faith as a female groupie and also a model for actors. Hank Moody is played by David Duchovny. She is part of Gyllenhaal's family and is the elder cousin of Jake Gyllenhaal. She began her career when she was a teenager, playing small roles in several of his films. She also appeared alongside her brother in the famous cult classic Donnie Darko (2001). Later, she was in Adaptation Confessions of a Dangerous Mind (both 2002) and Mona Lisa Smile (2003). Gyllenhaal was nominated for a Golden Globe Award in both the action drama Sherrybaby (2005) as well as the romance comedy Secretary (2002). The two movies were critically acclaimed. The Dark Knight, which was released in 2008 after numerous highly successful films, including World Trade Center (2006), brought Gyllenhaal greater fame. The year 2009 was the time she was nominated for the award of Best Supporting Actress at the Oscar Awards for her performance of a single mother as she appeared in Crazy Heart. The roles she played in subsequent films include Nanny McPhee and The Big Bang and Hysteria. She also was a Secret Service Agent in White House Down which was an action-packed thriller released in 2013, a musician in Frank (2014), and her role as the main character for the lead role in The Kindergarten Teacher, a film that debuted in the year 2018. Gyllenhaal started her career as a screenwriter, director and writer in the year 2021 when she wrote and directed her psychological horror film The Lost Daughter. The film won Best Screenplay at the Venice International Film Festival, and was also nominated for the Academy Award.
